This week, we tackle the election results.
On Tuesday, voters came out in record numbers to cast ballots for local municipal elections, including sanitary districts, towns, cities, and villages, and local referendums and hospital boards.
Final vote tallies won’t be certified until the canvass on Friday, November 15. In the meantime, some races are pretty easy to call while others are much closer — including two different races divided by only six votes.
We take a look at the major shake-ups, including a housecleaning in Southport, big changes for H2GO, and a new face of Wilmington City Council — plus a very close race for Wilmington mayor. And, where the election left things ‘business as usual,’ we’ll take a look at why incumbents held on to their seats.
