Update, 5:30 a.m. Wednesday: With all 30 precincts reporting Bill Saffo will remain Mayor of Wilmington taking a lead of 7,709 compared to Devon Scott’s 7,079. Margaret Haynes, Neil Anderson, and newcomer Kevin Spears have taken the top three spots on City Council edging out Paul Lawler by a mere six votes.
LeAnn Pierce has won the mayoral seat in Carolina Beach; Councilman Steve Shuttleworth has apparently lost his seat with Lynn Barbee and Jay Healy winning seats. In Wrightsville Beach, Darryl Mills defeated newcomer Greg Buscemi.
