SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, an iconic Wilmington destination has been included in a nationwide list of top anniversary dinner experiences.

The array of dining options available at Wilmington’s Riverfront comes in at 35th in the nation and first in the state of North Carolina on Mixbook’s list of America’s 200 best districts for a dinner date. Uptown Charlotte placed 147th.

Mixbook, a top rated photo book company, collected the data via a survey given to 3,000 couples nationwide to assess which dinner date locations were most sought-after.

The couples were asked to describe their ideal anniversary dinner date location, considering factors, such as overall atmosphere and culinary preferences.

Wilmington’s Riverwalk caught attention for its gourmet cuisine options, casual seafood spots, scenic views, and rich historical background.

Two South Carolina cities made the top 10, including Myrtle Beach, in the 10th spot and Hilton Head ranking third. North Beach, California’s “Little Italy” came in first place.
