WILMINGTON — Michael was a dedicated employee of the Tandy Company, where he worked as a salesman for Radio Shack in North Wilkesboro. His career reflected his passion for technology and his enthusiasm for connecting with people.
A man of deep faith, Michael was devoted to the Baptist beliefs and maintained a steadfast relationship with God throughout his life. He was also an avid gaming enthusiast, a proud nerd, and a lover of music. His heart beat fervently for Carolina Basketball and Tennessee Football. In addition, Michael cherished reading and had a profound passion for history and geography.
Michael is preceded in death by his infant brother, Patrick Ray Tew; maternal grandparents, Boyd Kannady and Dora Mae Smith Kannady; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Betsy Tew.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his surviving family: his father, Phillip Ray Tew, and wife Terry; his mother, Linda JoAnn Kannady McArthur, and husband Doug; his sisters, Ashley Castillo and husband Saul, Amanda Benitez and husband Sergio, Lori Mae Kelly, and Crystal Jeffares; niblings Milo, Ryan, Emma, Adrian, and his namesake Miguel; many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his special friend Lindsay Mills.
A memorial service honoring Michael’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Reverend Dodd Mays of Freedom Baptist Church will officiate the service.
Michael’s life was marked by his unwavering faith, his love for learning, and the joy he found in family and friends. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
