NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The Cape Fear Museum has new board members after four retired during its June meeting.
Robert Cameron, Caroline Davis, Brian Jones and Allen Trask are stepping in as John Coble, Susan Hanna, Sara Izad, and Girard Newkirk step off.
Also voted on are officers for the coming year fiscal year 2026-2027: Chip Raja, president; Stewart Borrett, vice president; Judy Thornton, secretary; and Ginny Dunn, treasurer.
The new board members have each been elected to serve three-year terms on the Associates Board. Cameron is the general manager of Gas Center Inc., who also has served on the Cape Fear Museum board prior.
Davis works for nCino in development and delivery of innovative banking technology, while Jones manages Success Enablement Services at HMH, which porvides educational solutions and learning technologies. They both support the museum’s STEM outreach and can help with discovery as it related to AI tools.
Allen Trask, an attorney with Ward and Smith P.A., brings experience in corporate law and legal leadership.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these passionate community leaders to the Cape Fear Museum Associates Board,” Museum Director Kate Baillon said in a release. “Their diverse perspectives, skills, and experiences will be invaluable as we guide the museum’s growth and work together to shape an inspiring future for our community.”
