WILMINGTON — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victoria Ann Baum nee Pollaro, who peacefully joined the Angels after a valiant six-year battle with Renal Cancer. Victoria leaves behind her beloved husband, John, devoted daughter, Sarah, son-in-law, Lance, and cherished grandson, Justice. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Valerie and Donna. She was predeceased by her parents, Vito and Margaret, and her brother, Ralph.
Victoria’s love for her family knew no bounds. She adored her family more than anything and treasured every moment spent with them.
A graduate of Mamaroneck High School, Class of 1965, Victoria embarked on a career as a legal secretary before following her passion for design and establishing her own Typesetting Graphics Design business, which she poured her heart into until the very end.
Known for her nurturing nature, Victoria was a dedicated class mother for many years and was honored with the title of Family of the Year from her daughter’s middle school. She took great joy in organizing gatherings, particularly the annual Christmas bash and summer BBQ bash, where she brought together loved ones to create lasting memories.
In 2006, Victoria moved to Waterford, where she played a vital role in organizing a burgeoning social committee, which she co-chaired until 2020. She treasured the yearly vacations to the Outer Banks with family and friends and forged many new and dear friendships over the past eighteen years.
Victoria enjoyed social outings with her close friends and found solace in relaxing in her sunroom and patio, tending to her garden. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at NHRMC, North Chase Rehab, and the compassionate Angels at Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
Aquamation services have been entrusted to Tranquility Cremation by Aquamation.
Victoria’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, forever cherished and dearly missed. May she rest in peace.
