WILMINGTON — Lacy Warren Johnson, Jr., 86 of Wilmington, NC passed on September 17, 2026. He was born in Lumberton, NC on October 23, 1939 to Lacy and Dorothy Johnson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Rose J. Wooten.
Lacy was a man of deep, quiet faith who truly loved the Lord. He lived a remarkable life filled with hard work, determination and many accomplishments. A man of great intelligence and many talents, Lacy was a pilot who enjoyed the freedom of flying his own plane. He also had a lifelong fascination with submarines and even had one of his own. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish several successful businesses, and his exceptional craftsmanship was evident in the beautiful, high-quality homes he built. Although Lacy accomplished so much throughout his life, his greatest treasures were not measured by his successes. Above all else, he deeply loved his wife, Grace, and his family. They were the heart of his life and meant more to him than any accomplishment ever could. Lacy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, remarkable mind, quiet faith, and, most of all, the love and devotion he had for his family.
He is survived by his wife Grace Johnson; three children: Renny (Kathy) Johnson, Trish Keeter, Keith (Kelli) Johnson; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren that he dearly loved. He is survived by his sister Celeste Watson with whom he was very close, a special niece Denise and her husband George, and multiple other family members that he loved.
A Visitation will be held from 10am until 11am on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina. The Funeral Service will immediately follow with Christian Keeter officiating.
