George Roberts James, 63, of Castle Hayne, N.C., died, June 25, 2016, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.
He was born July 31, 1952, in Eastover, S.C., to the late Benjamin B. James and Lucy Lorick James.
George worked as a heavy crane operator for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Jo James; and three brothers, Benjamin B. James, John S. James and Wayne F. James.
Survivors include his brother, Walter D. James; sister, Linda J. Sweat; longtime friend, Barbara Batson; and his pet, Waylon Jennings James.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the Hospice Care Center for excellent care and services.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Greenfield Baptist Church, 1401 S. Third St., Wilmington, N.C.
