Tri-county schools check-in: Seven cases reported on NHCS campuses ahead of upcoming mask vote

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — New Hanover County Schools is reporting seven Covid-19 cases for this past week, ahead of the board of education’s upcoming vote to potentially lift or retain the mask mandate Monday.

The schools assigned six quarantines total, according to the district’s online dashboard.

Castle Hayne Elementary — 2
Ogden Elementary — 1

Middle
Murray Middle — 1
Myrtle Grove Middle — 1
Roland-Grise Middle — 1

High
Laney High — 1

Brunswick County Schools

Brunswick County Schools is reporting 32 active Covid-19 cases, as of Wednesday, including one in the central services office. More than 150 people were assigned to quarantine as of the latest update.

Pender County Schools

Pender County Schools disclosed 11 Covid-19 cases and 114 quarantines for the week of Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, according to its latest report. The school system will update its dashboard with more recent data Monday on its website.
