
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit has wrapped a multi-month investigation, seizing a large quantity of narcotics, multiple firearms and arresting six people.
In collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and assistance from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the BCSO arrests target trafficking of dangerous illegal drugs throughout Brunswick County.
Arrests and charges include:
Terrance Fullwood — Trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking opium, conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine, PWIMSD cocaine, PWIMSD schedule II controlled substance, PWIMSD schedule III controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, PWIMSD marijuana
Dashawn Fullwood — Trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking opium, trafficking cocaine, PWIMSD methamphetamine, PWIMSD cocaine, PWIMSD schedule II controlled substance, PWIMSD schedule III controlled substance, PWIMSD marijuana
Damond Stanley — Conspiracy to traffic cocaine, conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, PWIMSD schedule II controlled substance, manufacture cocaine, possession of stolen firearms, possession of a weapon of mass destruction
Lashama Fullwood — Conspiracy to traffic cocaine
Richard Clemmons — PWIMSD schedule III controlled substance, PWIMSD cocaine
Katelyn Woodell — PWIMSD schedule II controlled substance, PWIMSD Cocaine
Agents investigated the case by engaging in transactions with the arrested individuals. Undercover law enforcement purchased roughly 691 grams of methamphetamine and 35 grams of cocaine.
They also were able to execute four residential search warrants, in which the SBI and vice unit retrieved:
- 261 additional grams of methamphetamine
- 268 grams of cocaine
- 8 grams of fentanyl
- 7 firearms
- 2 reported stolen
- 3 modified with auto sears to function as fully automatic weapons
- $14,891 in U.S. currency
Additional arrests are expected, as the ongoing investigation targets gang violence and the sale of illegal and dangerous narcotics throughout Brunswick County.
Sheriff Brian Chism said taking off the streets the drugs and firearms, specifically illegally modified to function as automatic weapons, was important for community safety.
“Every one of these weapons removed from our streets represents a potential act of violence prevented,” he said in a release.
