WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department’s Gang and Gun Crimes has charged several individuals after investigating a series of gang-related shootings that occurred during the weekend of May 30, 2026.

The WPD alleges the shootings, which occurred within the Vesta Village community and the vicinity of Henry Street, were retaliatory between gang members.
Individuals who are currently facing charges include:
Isaiah Kyree Lewis (23-year-old from Maple Hill, North Carolina)
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon-Gun
- Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner
- Possession Schedule VI Controlled Substance

Tazhan Deandre Beverly (25-year-old from Wilmington, North Carolina)
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill (two counts)
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon-Gun
- Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner
Jahzail Shamon Grady (19-year-old from Wilmington, North Carolina)
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill (two counts)
- Felony Conspiracy
- Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner

Lewis and Grady are both being held without bond, while Beverly is being held at the NHSO Detention Facility under a $150,000 bond.
These arrests were made through a coordinated effort involving the Wilmington Police Department, the City/County Mobile Field Force, North Carolina Probation and Parole, and the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional arrests and charges are anticipated as detectives continue to pursue leads and identify other individuals involved.
