NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH — The Ocean City Jazz Festival will be hosting its “Sweet 16,” a celebration of its 16-year anniversary, in North Topsail Beach.
The festival will take place from July 3 to July 5 and feature nationally recognized jazz artists, including Kirk Whalum, Eric Darius, Javon Jackson, Nicholas Cole, Phylicia Rae and Jacob Webb. However, the festival will include more than just music.
In honor of North Topsail Beach’s title as the first beach community in North Carolina where African Americans could purchase oceanfront property, the weekend event will include history and heritage activities, ecology initiatives and community engagement opportunities in addition to the live performances.
Food trucks will also be available, including Waterline Brewing, Crab Shack King, RBGrill Family, DeMario’s, Bliss and Flame and Liquid Luxe. Vendors listed on the website include Second Beat Studios, Sun Jewelry, Glam Essentials and Scentsy.
