CFPUA flushes Monterey Heights’ water system

Moneterey Heights water system is being flushed for two weeks in July, the 8-12 and 15-19 (Google maps)

NEW HANOVER COUNTY – Routine maintenance is scheduled to begin to Monterey Heights’ water system.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will start a two-week flushing program from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday mornings. This will not compromise the drinking water and the utility authority does not anticipate a boil-water advisory.

There could be periods of water discoloration and it is advised for customers to run the water for 1 to 3 minutes to clear.

CFPUA’s schedule is as follows; see all zone maps here:

  • July 8-12; Zones 1A, 1B and 1C will be flushed
  • July 15-19: Zones 2A, 2B and 2C will be flushed

Motorists in the neighborhood should be aware of construction zones and drive with caution.
