SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — In the first week back on a normal school schedule, New Hanover County elementary schools saw 13 Covid-19 cases.
Overall, there were 21 cases reported districtwide and 27 precautionary quarantines, according to NHCS’ public online dashboard, which updated Friday afternoon. (The reporting only includes cases parents and students self-report, meaning some positive tests may go unaccounted for.)
NHCS has reported 799 positive cases total since Oct. 12.

Brunswick County Schools
Brunswick County Schools is reporting 18 active Covid-19 cases and 201 precautionary quarantines as of Friday morning. To date, BCS has recorded 393 positive cases among its students and staff. Of those 375 are recovered.
Port City Daily obtains its numbers for BCS through the district’s online dashboard. According to BCS, the data is compiled through the Brunswick County Health Department.

Pender County Schools’ most recent Covid-19 update is from March 1-7. As of then, the district had 24 known, active cases and 133 quarantines.
Since Aug. 1, 515 staff and students in PCS have tested positive for the virus. At least 491 are recovered.

Port City Daily obtains its numbers from PCS through the district’s online reporting, which refreshes on Mondays with any positive cases the school is aware of. According to a PCS spokesperson, the district obtains case data through self-reporting and the Pender County Health Department.
