WILMINGTON — As the concert season is in full swing, the announcements keep beefing up the live music coming to Greenfield Lake Amphitheater.

Three new shows have been announced for the 1,200-seat venue: the gritty rock of Grace Potter, the jam band virtuosity of Gov’t Mule and the Australian jazz and funk of The Cat Empire.

Grace Potter

Known for her power-punch blend of blues and rock, Grace Potter has been bringing her soothing, yet gritty sounds to Wilmington since 2009.

On Sept. 27, she will return to the outdoor amphitheater at Greenfield Lake in support of her new LP “Mother Road,” to be released this August.

It’s her fifth album and the followup to 2019’s “Daylight.” She recently dropped her single “Good Time,” from the record which has a country-rock vibe.

Potter is well-known for collaborations with numerous performers and bands across all genres of music, including country artist Kenny Chesney, psychedelic pop-rockers The Flaming Lips, and even rock-blues icons The Rolling Stones.

Tickets are on sale now to Wilmington’s show.

Gov’t Mule

Despite losing its bassist after 15 years just ahead of its summer tour, the Gov’t Mule show must go on.

Founder Warren Haynes confirmed earlier in the month Kevin Scott would replace veteran bassist Jorgen Carlsson as the Southern jam band announced its tour dates. It’s on the road currently as part of its final tribute to Pink Floyd in a “Dark Side of the Mule” tour, which ends in August.

Come fall, its North American tour continues in support of the band’s new album “Peace… Like a River.”

They will stop over at Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater. The outfit will be performing a two-night show, Oct. 3 and 4. Tickets go on sale Thursday, June 29, 10 a.m.

“Peace… Like a River” is the 12th studio album released in the band’s 28-year history. It’s the followup to the Grammy-nominated blues album, “Heavy Load Blues,” both recorded in The Power Station New England with co-producer John Paterno (Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos).

The Cat Empire

Since 1999, Melbourne, Australia-based The Cat Empire has been bringing the funk, rock and jazz to music lovers through its nine-disc catalogue. Adding to it in 2023 is “Where the Angels Fall,” slated for release this August.

It was recorded by original members Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill and their new ensemble including Seychelles singer Grace Barbe, Cuban-born trumpeter Lazaro Numa, and Neda Rahmani.

The band’s summer tour includes multiple stops in North Carolina, Florida and Canada, as well as California, Colorado, Utah and more. Tickets to their Oct. 22 show goes on sale Thursday, June 29, 10 a.m.
