Dennis Carl Bosak, 79

Dennis Carl Bosak (Wilmington Funeral & Cremation)

WILMINGTON — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Bosak, a beloved partner, father, brother, and friend, who left this world on June 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on November 6, 1946, in the city of New York, Dennis grew up in Commack on Long Island, graduating from Commack High School in 1964.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968. During his service, he demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. His time in the Marines was a testament to his courage and unwavering dedication to the values he held dear.

After the war, Dennis worked in data processing and information with the Federal Reserve and Smith Barney. He retired as VP of JM Family Enterprises in Jacksonville, Florida.

Known for his kind and generous spirit, Dennis had a unique ability to make you laugh with a story. Although he was known to enjoy a good bargain, his generosity knew no bounds when it came to helping others.

Dennis loved his Shelby Mustang, which he meticulously cared for, leaving no speck of dust behind. His attention to detail awarded him many trophies at car shows and admiration when he attended Cars and Coffee. His hobbies extended to driving Linda crazy, the golf course and the card table, where he enjoyed many joyful moments with friends, sharing laughter and camaraderie and winning all their money.

Dennis is survived by his devoted partner of 11 years, Linda, who stood by his side with unwavering love and support. He leaves behind a legacy in his children: his son Dennis and wife Tracy, his daughter Dedra and husband Tom, his daughter Danielle and wife Monique, and his son David. His brother Ronald (Des) also survive him, along with 8 cherished grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and one step great granddaughter. To say he was proud of his grandchildren is an understatement. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews all who brought immense joy to his life. Dennis’s home was filled with love, laughter, aggravation, the purrs of two beloved cats, the revving engine of his Shelby and an episode of Cops on TV with the volume at 47.

Dennis’ family will receive family and friends Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington, NC, with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.

His family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Bolivia for their compassionate care and support throughout Dennis’s journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dennis’s memory to the Tunnels To Towers Foundation and Lower Cape Fear Life Care, organizations that embody the spirit of service and community that Dennis held dear.

As we say goodbye to Dennis, we honor a life well-lived, filled with love, adventure, and a zest for life that inspired all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will forever grace our hearts, and he will always be remembered as a beloved partner, father, brother, and friend. May he rest in peace, embraced by the profound love he gave so freely to others.
