John Edward Bremer, 74

John Edward Bremer (Wilmington Funeral & Cremation)

WILMINGTON — John Edward Bremer, born on June 14, 1951, in Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 74, in Taylorsville, North Carolina. A beloved husband, father, step father and grandfather, John’s life was filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear.

John proudly served his country in the US Navy, dedicating over 20 years as an Aviation Specialist until his retirement. With a deep sense of duty and unwavering commitment, John was a model of service and integrity that inspired all who knew him.

His love of the color purple was as vibrant as his personality, and his favorite vacation destination, Walt Disney World, reflected his sense of wonder and joy. An ardent fan of the Nebraska Huskers and UNC Tarheels, he shared his passion for sports with family and friends alike. John delighted in simple pleasures, such as watching “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” but his greatest joy was spending time with his cherished family.

John was a devoted member of Freedom Baptist Church, where he found community and faith.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Marion Bremer and Edith Elizabeth Case Bremer, John leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family: his beloved wife, Michelle Potter Bremer; his two sons, Jason and Jeremy; his two step-daughters, Kaitlin and Samantha; and his precious granddaughter, Zoey.

Online condolences may be sent here.

Though he has departed from this world, John Edward Bremer’s spirit and legacy of love will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
