WILMINGTON — Lynn Reaves Hicks (Nan), age 80, of Wilmington, NC went on to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning June 6, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center.
Growing up in Wilmington, Lynn attended New Hanover High School, and she was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Lynn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and watching Jurassic Park movies as well as collecting stuffed dinosaurs.
Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James H. Reaves and Eloise Wood Reaves. She carried forward their legacy of kindness and integrity, traits that continue to shine through her surviving family: her son, John E. Hicks, and his wife, Richelle, of Hampstead; her daughter, Kim Hicks Dillon, of Wilmington; and her treasured grandchildren, “Her Heartstrings” Chandler Reaves Hicks and partner Emily Rivenbark, Caitlin Ragan Turner and husband Brodie, and Sarah Eloise-Dillon Padezanin and husband Nick.
She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Ann Benton of Nakina, nephew Mike Benton and his wife Gayle, as well as cousins Ed Wood and his wife Donna, Henry Duncan and Mary Reaves Morris and family.
In this time of mourning, we find solace in the profound impact Lynn had on our lives and take comfort in the knowledge that she is now at peace. Her memory will be eternally cherished by all who knew and loved her.
