Mary Kathryn Stiver (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Mary Kathryn Stiver, “Mary Kay,” 79 of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at her home.

She was born on August 20, 1945, in Takoma Park, MD, the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Werner and Rose Marie Werner and preceded in death by her brother John Charles Werner.

Surviving is her husband of over fifty-eight years, David C. Stiver; one daughter, Bernadine Marie Morini and husband Louis Thomas Morini; grandchildren, Jadon Thomas Morini and Owen Louis Morini; brothers, Thomas Michael Werner and former wife Mary Alice, William Patrick Werner and wife Dana, and Philip Joseph Werner and wife Bonnie, sister-in-law Beth Yumlu; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Kay was formerly of Johnstown, PA, where she was a member of St. Clement Church and St. John Gaulbert Cathedral. Locally, she was an active member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was involved with the Eucharistic Ministry, the Homebound, Funeral Choir, Seasonal Choir and Small Faith Group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, National Home Gardeners Association as well as Special Olympics and Paralyzed Veterans.

A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at a date and time to be announced.

Memorials may be made to Rare Disorders or Paralyzed Veterans or the National Organization.
