LELAND — William Waymon Ward Jr, age 67, of Leland, NC died on April 7, 2025. He was born in Whiteville, NC on December 28, 1957, to William Waymon Ward, Sr. and Carlene Smith Ward.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Ward worked as a meat cutter for over 30 years. He was a volunteer firefighter with N. W. Volunteer Fire Rescue, and he loved farming.
He is survived by wife: Deborah Ward of the home; sons: Justin Ward and wife Samantha and Matthew Ward all of Leland, NC; grandson, Thomas Ward; mother, Carlene Ward sisters: Magdalene Ward of Leland, NC, Mary Diehl and husband Morgan of Leland, NC, and Judy Ward of Ash, NC; brothers: Robert Ward and wife Celestine of Leland, NC and Roger Ward of Leland, NC.
