CASTLE HAYNE — Leonard Thomas Cuthbertson, 80, passed away on Monday at his home. He was the son of the late Henry Clay and Molly Cuthbertson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Papangelis.
He is survived by his wife, Ursula Cuthbertson; daughters, Elke Bullis (Krag) and Tina Cuthbertson; grandchildren, Krag Bullis, III, Elizabeth Shieler (Nick), and Thomas Bullis (Aryn); great-grandchildren, Jacob Blizard, Anakin Bullis, and Liam Shieler; brother, Lindel Cuthbertson (Bonnie); and brother-in-law, Manfred Geiger (Suzanne); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard worked as a photographer for many years and his love for his work was evident in the special moments that he captured for others. When he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed several hobbies, including woodworking and tinkering with his Corvette. He also loved to play the accordion when he was younger. He served his country in the US Army and was awarded the National Defense Medal.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 1:00 pm at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 12 N 6th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.
Memorial contributions may be made in Leonard’s memory to the SECU Family House at UNC Hospital or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
