SOUTHPORT — Ora Sue Strong Moseley, 94, of Southport, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 31, 2024.

Ora Sue Strong Moseley was born on June 6, 1930 in Greenville, NC. She was the first child of Trevis and Clara Strong. The family moved to Wilmington, NC when she was a young girl. She graduated from New Hanover High School and later earned a Nursing degree from The Medical College of Virginia. She worked as a registered nurse for over 45 years.

Nursing was her passion; her motto was “Once a Nurse Always a Nurse.” She enjoyed her work as a rehabilitation nurse at Travelers Insurance Co. the most.

More than anything, Sue had a strong faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She studied the Bible and freely shared her knowledge of the Bible with others. She most recently attended Bethel Baptist Church in Southport, NC.

Her passions were gardening, sewing, and all animals, but mostly the many family dogs she had over the many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Neilson Moseley Jr.; a daughter; Nancy Moseley Terry; sisters, Audrey Strong Harrington, Ann Strong Clark; brother, James Strong; and her parents, Trevis and Clara Strong.

She is survived by her three children, Richard Neilson Moseley, III (Jodi), James Hill Moseley (Mia), and John Page Moseley; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Taylor, Aleque, Benjamin, and Emma; and her great-grandchildren, Reid and Max.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 1628 N. Howe St., Southport, NC 28461 on September 28, 2024 at 11 a.m.
