CAROLINA BEACH — It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Leon Guest, Jr., who departed this world on August 20, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on October 30, 1963, in Jacksonville, FL, Robert peacefully passed away at his home in Carolina Beach, NC, with his beloved partner Ann Williams by his side.

Robert was a man of many talents and passions. As the owner of the successful business R&R Refrigeration, Heating, and Air, he made a significant impact in his field. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his love for adventure and camaraderie. An avid motorcycle rider, scuba diver, fisherman, guitarist, and singer, Robert enjoyed life to its fullest. He was known for his sociable nature and never met a stranger.

Highly decorated and respected, Robert retired as an Army Master Sergeant after 20 years of honorable service. Serving as an E8, Airborne, Infantry, and Drill Sergeant, he embodied the values of courage, honor, and duty. His membership in the Old Dawgs Bike Club further showcased his love for community and brotherhood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leon Guest and Malena D. Bellflowers; brother, Alan Simcox; sister, Paula Guest McClure; and former father-in-law, Roosevelt Creel.

Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Surviving him are his devoted partner, Ann Williams; his three daughters, Serena Strickland (Bryan), Dana Baldridge (Thomas), and Shelby Yaeger (Ethan); his son, Adam Guest; brother, Robert Simcox (Angie); sister, Tammy Turland (Greg); and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and step-children.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate Robert’s life on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Post 129, located at 1500 Bridge Barrier Road, Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Full military honors will commence at 3 p.m., paying tribute to his distinguished service and dedication to his country.

In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Robert’s spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
