SOUTHPORT — Charles J. “Chuck” Walling, age 92, of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
Mr. Walling was born June 19, 1931 in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Charles and Mary Walling. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Chuck was an avid golfer and had six hole-in-ones. He had attended church at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Winnabow. He was a Christian man who loved his church and his family; he was always thinking of them first.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Cora Walling; three children, Dr. Margie Walling of Arvada, CO, Charles Scott Walling, III and wife Nita, of Winterville, NC, Sherry Anne Quinones of Orange Park, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Hillsburg and Betty Mitscher; and a brother, John David Walling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Walling; and a sister, Evelyn Grinder.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
