WILMINGTON — John Richard Boyd, Jr, age 85 of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on May 18, 2024.
He was born in Ash, NC on January 4, 1939 to Johnny Richard Boyd, Sr. and Beulah Adell Boyd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Thomas and siblings: Lula Shepherd, Billy Boyd and Donald Ray Boyd.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Faye Boyd of the home; daughters: Michelle Futch and husband David of Hampstead and Debbie Mathis and husband Rusty of Wilmington; sons: Rick Boyd and Debbie of N. Fort Myers, Florida and Richard Boyd and Melinda of Wilmington; grandchildren; Carson Futch, Chandler Futch, Cameron Jaynes and wife Ashley, Tammy Mathis, J.R. Mathis, Savannah Boyd, Goldie Boyd and Austin Boyd; great-grandchildren: Brinleigh, Hannah, Shannon and Morgan; great-great grandchild, Waylon; sister, Janice Ward and husband Roy and son-in-law, James Thomas.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, 17750 Hwy 17, Hampstead, NC 28442.
