ROCKY POINT — Roy Merritt 75, of Rocky Point, NC passed away on January 26, 2024.
He was born on January 14, 1949 in Red Springs, NC to the late Ray Merritt and Lucille Carter Merritt. Roy was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2012. He was a talented artist and writer and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Roy is survived by his wife Rosemary Merritt, son Russell Coleman (Gina), grandchildren Bryan, Henry, and Nathan and great grandson Kolten, and brothers James Merritt of Burgaw, NC and Steve Merritt (Cindy) of Leland, NC.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
