WILMINGTON — Glen William Schulte, 71, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024. Glen was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 12, 1952 to Frank and Betty Schulte.
Glen moved to Charlotte, NC in 1978. He enjoyed a long career working for such companies as Apple Computer and Wells Fargo. He moved to Wilmington, NC in 2015 to enjoy retirement and live closer to family.
His family will remember him for his love of baseball, music, and fishing. He loved coaching his daughters’ softball and basketball teams when they were young, instilling a love of sports in them that will carry on. He most enjoyed time spent with family and didn’t let a day go by without making a call to a loved one. Glen never met a stranger, gracing everyone he encountered with his humorous quips and one-liners.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Betty Schulte and brother Lynn
Schulte. He is survived by his daughters Nikki (Jed) Whitley, Rachel (Brad) Safrit, and
Dana Schulte; grandchildren: Ethan, Logan, and Avery Safrit, and Emmett and James
Whitley; siblings: Penny (Rick) Sabolik, Gary (Linda) Schulte, Lee (Cathy) Schulte, and Richard (Christine) Schulte; sister-in-law, Shelly Schulte, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Ocean
Front Park and Pavilion at 105 Atlantic Avenue, Kure Beach, NC 28449. Guests will be
received for a gathering at the Whitley residence at 4 p.m.
