WILMINGTON — Mary C. Smith, 80, of Wilmington, passed away, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 4, 1941, to the late William Pooley and Marie Flynn Pooley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Pooley and a brother-in-law, Stephen Crandall.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, William P. Smith; son, William F. Smith; daughter, Kelly Ponticello (Jim); grandchildren, James William Ponticello and Jillian Mary Ponticello; sisters, Ellen Fleming (Dan) and Carol Crandall; lifelong friends, Joanne Catanzarro and Sharon Schefer and all her “Beau Rivage” friends who became family over the last 25 plus years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
