SOUTHEASTERN NC — A grant from the Taco Bell Foundation has been awarded to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern North Carolina.

The Boys and Girls Clubs’ nonprofit received $44,210 for its life and workforce readiness program. It preps teens for success beyond high school by engaging them in career exploration, building employability and technical skills, and participating in experiences such as job-shadowing, internships, and project-based learning.

“This grant allows us to reach more students with the tools and guidance they need to build a successful future,” CEO Dawn-Michele Blalock said in a release.

In 2026, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern North Carolina provided afterschool and summer programs to more than 3,000 students K-12 across Brunswick, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow, and Pender counties.

The Taco Bell Foundation awarded $32 million this year to assist 700 nonprofits in the states. The foundation started in 1992 and is a public charity with the goal to empower future generations by funding programs that offer career preparation and encourage pursuits of higher-education. Donations to the foundation come from rounding up orders on Taco Bell totals around the U.S. or going to their website and donating directly to the foundation.
