WILMINGTON — Katherine Elizabeth Beagen, 84, of Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 at North Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Kate was born July 29, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ. She grew up in a large, lively family and lived “down the shore” in New Jersey, and loved taking walks at the beach, living in Ocean Grove, and visiting with her children and grandchildren. She worked for Easter Seals before she retired and moved to Wilmington in 2005. Kate always had a soft spot for birds and animals, watching and feeding them. She especially enjoyed the beach here, as well as taking walks through Airlie Gardens.
She is survived by two brothers, Michael and Peter Beagen; daughters Cheryl Crow (husband Richard) and Terri Collins; four grandchildren, Alexander and Rachel Crow, and Robert and Joseph Collins; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to express gratitude to North Chase Center for the compassion shown to their mother during her end of life care.
