LELAND — Hilda Mae Beasley, 78, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, May 19, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 16, 1939, to the late Dairus and Hester Wood. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Wood; and sister-in-law, Rose Wood.
Hilda was a member of Pine Valley Church of God. Hilda loved the Lord and worshiping with her church family when her health allowed. She worked tirelessly in her flower beds. Family and neighbors always loved when they received flowers from her gardens. Hilda loved traveling with friends and her passport showed it with stamps from the Holy Land, Switzerland, Germany, Paris, Rome, Holland, Alaska and all the Caribbean Islands.
Her family was her joy. She is survived by her loving husband, Orbie of 61 years; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Cindy; grandchildren, Dairus and Bryan; great-grandchildren, Saig, Emily, Asia, Seth and Damion; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald and Debbie and Danny Wood; niece, Amy; nephews and wives, Rodney and Jennifer, Ron and Nichole, Sammy and Dora Lynn and Todd; two very special great-nephews, Tyler and Ross Wood.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, at Andrews Mortuary Market Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, at Pine Valley Church of God with burial in RoseLawn, Benson.
