PENDER COUNTY — Superintendent Dr. Steven Hill will preside over Pender County schools for another three years. The county board of education unanimously voted to extend Hill’s contract through June 30, 2024.
According to the board, Hill helped the school system through challenges aplenty and beyond his control upon arriving in October 2017. Hurricane Florence and the Covid-19 pandemic among them.
“We all are in agreement that [the Board does] appreciate all that you continue to do for our school system, and especially this year. We know how difficult it has been, so thank you,” board chair Cindy Fontana stated in a release.
