CAPE FEAR — The area water authority has issued an emergency boil water advisory for customers on part of Cheyenne Trail and surrounding areas.

As of Monday, April 20, a water main break has been reported in the area and Cape Fear Public Utility Authority crews are on the scene to restore service for roughly 80 customers located at:

  • 101 to 221 Cheyenne Trail
  • 101 to 229 Navaho Trail
  • The 100 and 200 blocks of Apache Trail

There could be periods of low or no pressure and increased potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system. Customers not utilizing bottled water should boil water for 1 minute and allow it to cool before drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, preparing food and more.

Before a boil water advisory is lifted, CFPUA lab staff will test the water.
