ROCKY POINT — According to the Pender County Fire Marshal’s Office, an overnight fire left people displaced after their single-wide mobile home burned.

A house fire broke out at 4:25 a.m. on Rocky Point Training School Road. Firefighters from multiple municipalities — Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Department, Pender EMS & Fire, and New Hanover County Fire & Rescue — were called to the scene with heavy fire conditions present.

The crews contained the blaze to prevent its spread to nearby structures.

The three displaced occupants — none of whom were injured, nor were firefighters —  are working with the American Red Cross, called on site to provide assistance.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Pender County Fire Marshal’s Office.

“Residents are urged to prioritize fire safety in their homes, especially during the colder months when the risk of fires can increase,” according to PCFM.
