The U.S. Marshals in Wilmington arrested two murder suspects in the Holly Ridge area Monday who were wanted in Baltimore, Maryland.
Christopher Matthew Wilkins Jr., 32, and Angel Margaret Fury, 27, were each booked at the New Hanover County Jail on Monday, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Bryan Konig. Wilkins and Fury were wanted by the Baltimore City Police Department on charge of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with an offense that occurred in Baltimore, Maryland earlier this month.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, the two were wanted in the death of a 48-year-old man who was found unresponsive at a hotel in the 6400 block of Pulaski Highway, Baltimore, Maryland, at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5. Shortly after medics and police arrived at the hotel room, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Medical examiners in Maryland ruled the victim’s cause of death as a homicide due to blunt force trauma.
U.S. Marshals from the Wilmington area located and apprehended Wilkins and Fury at a residence on Highway 50 in Holly Ridge, based on information received by U.S. Marshals in Baltimore that the suspects may be in North Carolina.
Wilkins and Fury are being held without bond as fugitives from justice and are awaiting extradition to Maryland.
