Wilmington police are still searching for a 53-year-old woman who was last seen 10 days ago in downtown Wilmington and officials suspect the woman may be a victim of foul play.

Shannon Rippy Vannewkirk was last seen leaving The Husk at 31 S. Front St. in downtown Wilmington at about 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5, according to police spokeswoman Linda Rawley.

“Investigators believe there may be foul play surrounding her disappearance. New information in the investigation has led police to believe that Vannewkirk may have been harmed,” Rawley said.

The investigation is ongoing, Rawley said.

Vannewkirk is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds. She has dark hair and a red-tinted butterfly tattoo on her left shoulder.
