WILMINGTON — A celebration of various pocket of downtown Wilmington and its surrounding vicinity is planned for Saturday, Feb. 6, with a free trolley operating to drop off people in seven districts.

Downtown Business Alliance is behind the event. DBA is a volunteer-driven nonprofit, dedicated to strengthening, promoting, and advocating for businesses in and around historic downtown Wilmington. District Day will showcase various business, restaurants, bars and more in and around downtown. Many are celebrating with music, specials, food trucks, and even art vendors in some instances.

For example, Station No. 2 on Castle Street will have live music from Roger Davis, a fire pit in the courtyard, a hot chocolate bar for kids and hot toddies for adults, and Mommiez Food Truck.

The downtown trolley will provide continuous free service to Cargo District, Castle Street District, South Front District, Brooklyn Arts Districts, North Waterfront District, Soda Pop District, and Central Business District.

The day also coincides with a social district held in the Brooklyn Arts District, which means people will be able to walk freely with alcoholic beverages in public rights-of-way mapped out in a 10-block area. Only alcohol purchased from participating social district businesses is allowed, not outside containers.

People who participate are encouraged to park their vehicles in the Skyline Deck at 155 Brunswick Street and then hop on the nearby trolley to traverse its varied routes, viewable here
