Ashley remains the team to beat atop the Mideastern Conference standings as the Screaming Eagles overcame a one-goal deficit to pick up a 2-1 result over New Hanover at Legion Stadium on Tuesday.
Shaffer Lisle put the Wildcats in front on an assist from Foster Willis in the 29th minute, but Drew Walters equalized for Ashley just before the break to even the score.
Zack Smith set up the Walter’s goal, while Duenis Aviola found Josh Barnello for the game-winner just nine minutes into the second half to put the Screaming Eagles in front.
A pair of yellow cards issued to the same player forced Ashley to play with just 10 on the field for the final half-hour of the match, but the Wildcats were unable to take advantage of the opportunity.
Ashley extended its unbeaten streak to 12 straight games and improved to 5-0 in league play. New Hanover dropped to 2-2 in conference and 10-5-1 overall.

Hoggard broke a scoreless game with two quick goals early in the second half and found the back of the net once more to post a 3-0 shutout over West Brunswick.
Cesar Cruz gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute off an assist from Austin Redenbaugh and Andrew Robinson made it a two score advantage minutes later as Kyle Makely set up the opportunity. Redenbaugh picked up his second assist on a pass to Sawyer Royal, who tallied in the 67th minute to put the game in check.
The Vikings remain tied atop the division standings at 4-0 in league play and improved to 7-3-3 overall. West Brunswick fell to 1-3 in conference and 7-5 on the year.
