WILMINGTON — Martin, known to most as Tony, was born on January 16, 1938 in Binghamton, NY to Helena (DiFulvio) DeJoseph and Martin DeJoseph. He passed away at the age of 87 on December 18, 2025, surrounded by his family.

When Tony was 4, the family moved to Corning, NY where his father opened an upholstery business. He grew up alongside his siblings, Rose, John and Betty. Tony went on to graduate from Northside High School in 1956. He attended Alfred Tech for an Associates in Architecture degree.

He joined the United States Army where he spent time stationed in Germany. Tony later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Elmira College. Tony opted to make Corning his home where he would work and raise his children, Marty and Melinda, His career at Corning Glassworks/Corning Incorporated began in 1964. He served in engineering and supervisory positions. Tony married his wife, Margaret on December, 19, 1981 and gained 2 stepsons, Matt and Jason. He retired from Corning Incorporated with over 30 years of service. He and Margaret moved to Wilmington, NC in 2001 where he could be close to his children, Marty and Melinda. He would go on to become a grandfather of 7.

Tony was a loving father, husband, grandparent, brother and friend who will be missed dearly. He cared deeply for his family and would regularly check in to see how everyone was doing and if they needed anything. He proved to be strong in spirit and would tackle any challenge with grace. He was an avid NY Yankees fan who often would travel to see games and enjoyed watching them on tv with his wife. He enjoyed Buffalo Bills football, relaxing by the pool and going to restaurants and movies with his wife.

Tony is predeceased by his parents, Helena (DiFulvio) and Martin DeJoseph; his older brother, John DeJoseph and special family friend, Norma Sjoblom.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret (Elliott) DeJoseph; his son, Martin (Jennifer) DeJoseph and their children Avery and Ashton; daughter, Melinda (Christopher) McMillan and her son, Colin McEnroe of Wilmington NC; beloved sister, Rose Cregg of Fayetteville, NY; sister Betty (Jim) Chapman of Trophy Club, Texas; stepson, Matthew (Melissa) Hoover and their sons Sam and Luca of Peoria, AZ; stepson, Jason (Tricia) Hoover and their daughters Alexis and Katelyn of Cheektowaga, NY; many cousins, nieces and a nephew as well as some close friends.

Memorial Services will be planned for a later date in Corning, NY.
