WILMINGTON — Don Harold Boatwright, a professional and talented builder, passed away on November 26, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on December 5, 1946, in Mullins, South Carolina, he was 78 years old at the time of his passing.
Throughout his career, Don specialized in constructing swimming pools, tennis courts, and homes, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was proud of making over 160 Paratroop Jumps with the US Marine Corps Paratroop Battalion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Malcom Boatwright, his mother, Onnie Altman Boatwright, and two brothers, Billy Malcom Boatwright and Benny Wayne Boatwright.
Don Boatwright is survived by his loving daughters, Betsy Boatwright and Amy Boatwright. He also leaves behind his brothers, Roy Lee Boatwright, Mark Dean Boatwright, Curtis Boatwright, and John Brown; as well as his sisters, Linda Sue James and Jenell Hawkins. In addition, he is survived by three cherished grandchildren and many extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
A Celebration of Life service will be planned for a later date. Don’s urn will be placed alongside his mother at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, Virginia, where he will rest in peace.
