WILMINGTON — Barry Lawrence Isaacs passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025 at Brookdale Senior Living in Wilmington, NC surrounded by loving family members.

Barry Isaacs was born in Brooklyn, NY to Rita (Goldband) and Harry Isaacs. He attended Long Island University and served in the New York Army National Guard from 1960-1966.

Barry had a full career working for Lewmar Paper, then International Paper Companies. He was known for his ethical approach to business, “non-pushy” sales approach, and quick sense of humor.

Barry was active in several communities. In Brooklyn, NY, he served as President of the Homeowners Board for Sam Burt Houses. In Barnegat, NJ, Barry served on the Consumer Protection and Zoning Boards. He was also President of the Lighthouse Village Homeowners Association while living there. In Wall Township, NJ, Barry was an active member of the Jaycees organization.

Barry was faithful to his NY Mets baseball team, enjoyed walking through his development and along the River Walk in Wilmington. He was an avid reader and loved listening to the performances of Andrea Boccelli and Sarah Brightman.

Barry will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, playful teasing, and great sense of humor.

Barry Isaacs is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Diggins), and his children and their wives Steve (Robin Kennedy) of Toms River, NJ and Matt (Kristen Lutz) of Canton, MA, grandchildren, Justin Isaacs, Kritzia (Kolesa) Lord, and Savannah (Kolesa) Waters, Rose Isaacs, and Max Isaacs. Barry’s family was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Isaacs and Charlotte and Aria Waters and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving sisters-in-law: Janet (Frank) Prince, Peggy Matte, and Frances Griffin.

Barry is preceded in death by his brother Robert, sister-in-law Kathryn Urquhart, and brothers-in-law Walter Matte and Charles Griffin.

A Celebration of Life in honor and remembrance of Barry will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00pm at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation.
