Jean M. Neville, 77, formerly of Wilmington

Jean M. Neville (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Jean M. Neville, 77, formerly of Wilmington, passed away May 2, 2024, in Titusville, FL.

She was born August 3, 1946, in Richmond, VA to the late Dr. Wesley S. McAnally and Alice G. McAnally.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Boyce of Doylestown, PA and Gwen Eubank of Charlotte, NC and her much loved mother-in-law, Nancy Neville of Raleigh, NC.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Wendell C. Neville of Titusville, FL; two children, Wendell C. Neville, Jr. of Titusville, FL and John W. Neville of Newport News, VA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two brothers-in-law, with whom she was very close, Henry W. Neville and Richard B. Neville. Also surviving is a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jean loved people. She leaves behind many friends and relatives who she cared for greatly. She had two careers in life. Jean helped establish the Belks store on Oleander Dr. and worked there for some years. Later, she worked for Bellsouth in Wilmington and retired after 20 years of service. She never forgot the people she met at work.

Beyond this, there were four things she loved most in life:

Jean loved her heavenly Father. She read her bible and prayed every day. She never doubted that she would see heaven and her lost loved ones.

Jean had known Wendell Neville for 63 years and was married for 57 years. A true case of love at first sight, things may not have always been smooth, but there is no doubt that they were dedicated to each other. They loved each other greatly.

Jean loved family and was never more happy than when she was with them. Whether traveling or entertaining in her home or just visiting and spending time together.

Finally, the one thing everyone knew about Jean was her life was not complete without having cats. From the time she was a young child, she would hide stray cats in her room and she died owning a cat.
