CASTLE HAYNE — Jerry Maurice Myers, 50, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018. He was born Sept. 23, 1968, in Wilmington to Gerald and Patricia Myers, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Jordan Malia Myers; son, Skyler Kaleo Myers; very close friends, Sarah Terpstra, Kim Stroud, Mark and Pam LeGwin, Wes and Paula Grey and Mike and Tracey O’Dowd; nephew, Stephen Hobbs; and Aunt Maxine.
Jerry had worked many years for Outback Steakhouse in various positions; food tech, manager and coordinator. It was as a coordinator that he was offered many opportunities to travel, including Hawaii, where he lived for a few years and fell in love with the culture.
Jerry had an array of interest including collecting coins, baseball cards, racing and Pepsi memorabilia and cars. When it came to sports, he was a big fan of North Carolina State and Los Angeles Chargers.
Jerry was known as a critic: food critic, sports critic and music and movie critic. If it could be critiqued, he was there to give his opinion. Most of all, Jerry loved hanging out with his friends and laughing, all while living the island life.
