LELAND — Donna Lynn Bridges, 58, formerly of Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.
Donna was born Feb. 6, 1959, in Worcester County, Mass., to her parents, Henry and Martha Brandt. She graduated from Hempfield Area High School, and she married Douglas Bridges on Oct. 7, 1978. The Bridges resided in Pennsylvania until 2009 when they moved to Leland, N.C., to enjoy the beaches and warmer weather.
Donna was known for her spirit and sense of humor. Donna was a woman of God. She never passed by anyone who had fallen on hard times without lending her aid. Prior to moving to Leland, she was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Stanton, Penn. She loved music, gardening and being in nature surrounded by God’s creations. Her yard and garden were places of comfort, and she took pride in planting and caring for her bushes and plants, especially when accompanied by her dog, Buckley.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by the love of her life, Douglas Bridges; parents, Henry and Martha Brandt of Prescott, Ariz.; sisters, Lisa and Dianna Brandt of Prescott, Ariz.; brother, William Brandt of Ash Fork, Ariz.; daughter, Kelly Bridges of Great Mills, Md., as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
A service to remember her life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wilmington Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
