Mary Louise Daughtery Blake died at New Hanover Medical Center on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, while holding the hands of her daughter and one of her grandsons. She was 73.
She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Edward and Gladys Creech Daughtery.
A loving mother and grandmother, Mary Louise was also passionate about dogs. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a non-judgmental love for others. People were drawn by her charming, innocent, forgiving spirit.
Mary Louise is survived by her daughter, Deborah Blake (Carlton Jr.) Clark; grandsons, Blake and Nathan, of Hampstead; and brother, Robert “Bobby” (Vicki) Daughtery, of Wilmington.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington. The family will then receive friends at 4:30 p.m. at the residence of Robert and Vicki Daughtery, 5912 Downrigger Drive, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
