Jewell Irene Sparks Campbell, of Shallotte, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at Autumn Care of Shallotte. She was 89.
Born in Deering, Missouri on June 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Betty Sparks. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Campbell; son, Bobby Wayne Young; two sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are two sons, James L. “Jim” Campbell and wife Barbara, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Billy Ray Campbell and wife “Dianne,” of Fuquay Varina; daughter, Paula Campbell, of Shallotte; brother, Jackie Ray Sparks and wife Jearlene, of Cardwell, Missouri; sister, Willie Spaeth, of N. Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Chris Campbell, Robin-Ann Gutierrez, Billy Ray Campbell, the Rev. Joshua Campbell, Phillip Campbell and Meghan Hombel; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Brunswick Funeral Service’s chapel followed by funeral services beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the First Tee of Brunswick County, P.O. Box 1820, Shallotte, NC 28459 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
