Foreign material has contaminated a popular brand of turkey kielbasa.
Salm Partners out of Wisconsin has recalled 35,430 pounds of the Johnsonville brand’s 12-ounce vacuum-sealed packages. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall today.
Consumers complained of discovering pieces of rubber in the sausages.
Produced between Oct. 30 and 31 last year and shipped nationwide, the kielbasa includes best-by dates of May 17, 2024 and May 18, 2024. The bear establishment number is P-32009.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injury and a healthcare provider should be contacted if consumers suspect ingestion of the contaminated material. Anyone with the ready-to-eat product should toss it immediately or return the item for a refund from its place of purchase.
