MYRTLE GROVE ROAD — A precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, for approximately 120 Cape Fear Public Utility Authority customers.

Customers may experience temporary water service disruptions while work is underway. Periods of low or no water pressure can increase the risk of back-siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system.

The advisory affects customers at the following locations:

  • 5400-6200 blocks of Myrtle Grove Road
  • All of Sapphire Ridge Road
  • All of Tall Ship Lane
  • All of Tall Mast Court
  • All of Avalon Avenue
  • All of Caribe Court
  • All of Grove Lane
  • All of Marsh Cove Lane
  • 5101 Peden Point Road

During the advisory, customers should bring water to a rolling boil for one minute and allow it to cool before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, preparing food, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing baby formula or giving it to pets. Bottled water or another safe water source may also be used.

Customers do not need to boil water for showering or bathing. Before lifting the advisory, CFPUA laboratory staff will test the water to ensure it is safe to drink.
