
WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Community College will start offering its Adult High School program at the North Campus beginning this July to help more people complete high school and earn a diploma. The program is offered at no cost to the student.
CFCC’s Adult High School diploma is given in partnership with New Hanover County and Pender County Schools. It is accepted by jobs, colleges, and universities across the country.
To earn a diploma, students must complete 22 credits, including:
- Four English credits
- Four math credits
- Three science credits
- Four social studies credits
- One health and physical education credit
- Six elective credits
Classes are nine weeks long. Each class has 68 hours of learning time and students must attend 64 hours to pass.
Students have the option of taking classes in person or online. In-person classes are offered at the following times:
· Afternoon: 1 to 5 p.m.
· Evening: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Adult High School courses are now offered at all CFCC campus locations.
