Monday, July 10
Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at the Pender County Public Assembly Room, 805 S. Walker St. in Burgaw. The meeting can be livestreamed here. A few items on the agenda include:
- An update on the Hurricane Florence Hazard Mitigation Grant Program from North Carolina Emergency Management
- Update on changes at Abbey Nature Park and consideration of an amended lease agreement and Capital Project Documents for construction of Abbey Nature Park. Read PCD coverage here.

Tuesday, July 11
The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold a work session at 4 p.m. on student discipline, followed by the board’s regular meeting at 5 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1802 S. 15th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

- Review of the board’s agenda review process
The Carolina Beach Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in council chambers at town hall, 1121 N Lake Park Blvd. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes:
- Map amendment to rezone 601 Augusta Ave. from a conservation to residential zoning district
- Text Amendment to amend Chapter 40, Sec. 40-72. Table of permissible uses, Sec. 40-261. – Development standards for particular uses, and Sec. 40-548. Definitions to amend standards for Event Venue / Bars.
- Conditional Zoning to consider an event venue/bar at 205 Charlotte Ave. in the central business district
Pender County Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Pender County Hampstead Annex Auditorium, 15060 U.S. 17 in Hampstead. The meeting can be livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

- A rezoning request for 6 acres from general business to residential performance
- A rezoning request for 2 acres from residential performance to general business
The Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Historic Train Depot, 115 S. Dickerson St. A few items on the agenda include:
- Proposed amendments to the town’s utility policy
- Speed reduction consideration in residential neighborhoods
- Public hearing to amend part of the UDO related to off-street parking and prohibiting commercial vehicles on residentially-zoned lots
Belville Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in commissioners’ chambers at 63 River Road. An agenda shows a public hearing will be held in regard to reviewing and reporting upon a proposed ordinance that would regulate open burning within the town.
The Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at Rankin Terrace Place, 415 N. 12th St. The Housing and Economic Opportunities Inc. Board of Directors will meet immediately after, followed by the Glover Plaza Inc. Board of Directors.
The Pender County Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. at the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 U.S. Highway 117 S in Burgaw. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes:
- Parking fees budget review
- Consider sign-on and retention bonuses for staff
- Consider EV bus and infrastructure
The Oak Island Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in council chambers at town hall, 4601 E. Oak Island Drive. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes:
- Public hearing on a text amendment to the commercial low-density district dimensional requirements
- Public hearing on a text amendment on rezoning from residential to community business district
- Discussion of recreation center project

Wednesday, July 12
The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will meet at 4:30 p.m. in council chambers at town hall, 321 Causeway Drive. The agenda includes:
- Public hearing for text amendments on open space requirements
- Discussion and direction of a partial replacement of a raw waterline intake for the purpose of constructing a parking lot and consider a budget ordinance to fund the project
- Discussion and direction on accepting partial ownership in a marsh tract off Parmele Boulevard

The Wilmington Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. at city hall, 102 North Third St. The meeting can be livestreamed on GTV8 and YouTube. A few items on the agenda include:
- A conditional district rezoning for 5.82 acres from community business to office and institutional for a mixed-use project of 192 units and 20,700 square feet of office and commercial space
- A conditional district rezoning for 23.33 acres from moderate-density single-dwelling district to high-density multiple-dwelling for a proposed 242-unit development
- An amendment to the land development code for various amendments and clean-up items related to landscaping and cross-access
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Coordinating Committee will meet at 10 a.m. at 305 Chestnut St. in Wilmington. The meeting can be livestreamed on Zoom. A few items on the agenda include:

- A public hearing on the 2024-2033 STIP
- Resolution supporting the allocation of additional direct attributable funds to the city for the Hooker Road and Hinton Avenue multi-use paths and intersection improvements. Read PCD coverage here.

Thursday, July 13
